Flash Media for China – Frank Hartwig (CEO) in China

For years, China has already been deemed to be one of the big markets for medium-sized enterprises in Thuringia, including CDA. For this reason, Frank Hartwig went to see China this year as part of a delegation. The German group included more than 80 representatives from politics, economy, science and culture which had to go through a large, but varying programme with more than 60 appointments.

The 7,000 km journey was headed by the Prime Minister of the German Federal State of Thuringia, Ms Christine Lieberknecht, the Thuringian Minister of Education and the Arts, Mr Christoph Matschie, and the Minister for Economic Affairs of Thuringia, Mr Matthias Machnig. The result of the journey was very positive. The Chinese strategy to increasingly invest into highly innovative high-tech projects fits ideally the extensive product range CDA has to offer. Last year, Thuringian exportations to the Middle Kingdom already amounted to almost 600 million Euros. This benchmark shall be extended gradually in the coming years.

Automotive branch particularly interesting CDA is particularly interested in the Chinese automotive branch, as it is the largest one of the world. The manufacturers of Chinese brands count more and more on the competencies of the enterprise from Suhl in navigation systems and on-board computers. CDA already supplies several renowned companies, such as TomTom or the VW Group, with SD storage cards – other Chinese manufacturers are about to follow. On his 8-day journey, Frank Hartwig could already arouse some interest.

Apart from business negotiations, the journey also offered a number of further advantages to CDA‘s Chief Executive Officer: „We were able to have many conversations with Chinese politicians and entrepreneurs and could exchange valuable insights. I get back to Suhl with a lot of positive impressions.“
